Indoor Games for Your Dog: Keeping Your Pup Entertained and Engaged
Remember that time when I tried to teach my dog, Max, to fetch with a sock? He seemed fascinated by the idea at first, but then he decided the sock was far too interesting to just bring back. Instead, he chose to bury it under the couch. This was just one of many hilarious moments during my quest to find indoor games that actually engaged my energetic pup.

1. Hide-and-Seek:
This classic is a favorite among dogs. Simply have your dog stay in one room while you hide in another. Then, call their name and encourage them to find you. Tip: Start with easy hiding spots and gradually increase the difficulty as your dog gets better at the game.
2. "Find It!":
This game is great for working on your dog's nose skills. Hide treats or toys around the house and have your dog "find" them. Tip: You can even use a toy that squeaks or makes a noise to help your dog find it.
3. Puzzle Toys:
Puzzle toys are a great way to challenge your dog's mind and keep them entertained. There are many different types of puzzle toys available, from simple treat dispensers to more complex puzzles that require your dog to figure out how to open them. Tip: Choose a puzzle toy that is appropriate for your dog's size and ability level.
4. "Touch It!":
This game is great for working on your dog's focus and obedience. Hold up a treat or toy and say "Touch it!" When your dog touches the treat with their nose, reward them with the treat. Tip: You can also use this game to work on other commands, like "sit" or "stay".
5. "Fetch" indoors:
Fetch isn't just for outside! Use a soft ball or toy that won't damage your furniture. You can even play fetch with a soft toy in a hallway or across a room. Tip: Make sure to provide a designated area for indoor fetch to avoid damaging your belongings.
6. "Freeze Dance":
This one's a blast! Turn on some music and let your dog dance along. When the music stops, tell your dog to "freeze". Tip: You can make it more challenging by adding obstacles or having your dog sit or stay while the music is playing.
